Windsurf Board
A windsurf board is very different from a kite board. They are generally much larger and thicker than a standard kite board and are ridden in a different manner. However, the most obvious difference is that these boards are designed to hold a sail.
There are two basic types of windsurf board; the short board and the long board. The obvious difference between the two is length, with long boards generally being over 3 meters long, and short boards being under. Today, the short board is the preferred platform for windsurfing.
Buying the right windsurf board will largely depend on the style of riding that you wish to do. For those that are interested in simply cruising across the water, most people recommend a freeride board. If you’re interested in a more aggressive style of riding, a freestyle board might be the best way to go.
